Blog Tour: Ivy Devlin Interview & Giveaway

1. Did you put parts of yourself or people you know into your characters?

I did grow up around a very large forest, but, unlike Avery, I didn't spend a lot of time in it. And Avery is way, way more interesting than I ever could be!

2. In what ways were you inspired by Little Red Riding Hood?

If I tell you that, it would spoil the book! But let's just say all the elements are there. Just different :-)

3. If you could pair Avery and Ben with any other characters (book or movie) who would you choose and why?

I have no idea! Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd love to read/see them! (Hmmm.. it's a hard choice, but I'd say maybe Damien from The Rise of Renegade X for Avery... she needs his protection and they're also both really nice people. For Ben... maybe Evie from Paranormalcy. She's understanding of werewolves and a kick butt heroine)

4. The paranormal/werewolf genre is really taking off and Low Red Moon definitely stands out as being unique, did you do any research on werewolves before writing?

I didn't do any research on werewolves, but I did some research on wolves. Ben's last name, for example--there's a reason why it is what it is!

5. What's next for you writing wise?

I've got some ideas I'm working on...

  5. I really want to read this book now. I've read reviews and they said the book wasn't that great, but only because the last 60 pgs weren't there.

  11. I love werewolves, and I really love the idea of mixing werewolves and Red Riding Hood. Definitely looking forward to reading this!

And I love how humble Ivy Devlin sounds. Why do good writers always give their characters all the credit? :)

  12. I'm interested to know if she's thought of incorporating any other nursery rhymes of children's stories from the past. What Little Red RIding Hood?-I guess I just have to read the book.

  13. Oooh, I'd love to see what Ben's last name means. I love the idea that authors have of combining childhood stories we grow up with into their stories. That just makes me wonder what's going to happen even more! :P
