1. Did you put parts of yourself or people you know into your characters?
I did grow up around a very large forest, but, unlike Avery, I didn't spend a lot of time in it. And Avery is way, way more interesting than I ever could be!
2. In what ways were you inspired by Little Red Riding Hood?
If I tell you that, it would spoil the book! But let's just say all the elements are there. Just different :-)
3. If you could pair Avery and Ben with any other characters (book or movie) who would you choose and why?
I have no idea! Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd love to read/see them! (Hmmm.. it's a hard choice, but I'd say maybe Damien from The Rise of Renegade X for Avery... she needs his protection and they're also both really nice people. For Ben... maybe Evie from Paranormalcy. She's understanding of werewolves and a kick butt heroine)
4. The paranormal/werewolf genre is really taking off and Low Red Moon definitely stands out as being unique, did you do any research on werewolves before writing?
I didn't do any research on werewolves, but I did some research on wolves. Ben's last name, for example--there's a reason why it is what it is!
5. What's next for you writing wise?
I've got some ideas I'm working on...

ReplyDeleteIvy seems like a really awesome author! :)
This has to be my most favorite interview with Ivy yet! I liked her answer to question 1, she answered modestly. If that is even the correct word. :)
ReplyDeleteInspired by Little Red Riding Hood.. hmm. interesting. The cover looks absolutely beautiful btw even though you said not to put great interview... great interview!(: because it really is.
ReplyDeleteI had no clue that this book was inspired by Little Red Ridinghood, or rather that it's a modern interpretation. Amazing. Great interview.
ReplyDeleteI really want to read this book now. I've read reviews and they said the book wasn't that great, but only because the last 60 pgs weren't there.
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that there are elements from the Little Red Riding hood fairy tale in a werewolf story. Definitely adds a new twist!
ReplyDeleteAwesome interview!
Interesting Interview! Can't wait to start it!
ReplyDelete<3 Evie! BTW Lend is mine lol :D
I wish I could live in the middle of the forest. I think it would be so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteI've been hearing good things about this book, I can't wait to read it.
ReplyDeleteIvy sounds cute and very humble. I envy her growing up by a forest!
ReplyDeleteI love werewolves, and I really love the idea of mixing werewolves and Red Riding Hood. Definitely looking forward to reading this!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love how humble Ivy Devlin sounds. Why do good writers always give their characters all the credit? :)
I'm interested to know if she's thought of incorporating any other nursery rhymes of children's stories from the past. What Little Red RIding Hood?-I guess I just have to read the book.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I'd love to see what Ben's last name means. I love the idea that authors have of combining childhood stories we grow up with into their stories. That just makes me wonder what's going to happen even more! :P
ReplyDeleteNow I'm really excited to see how much the book relates to Little Red Riding Hood!
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds so exciting! I love the story of Little Red Riding Hood. It is sinister, but in a way, interesting.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great book I can't wait to read it. I really loved the interview I want to read it more now!
