What I've Been Watching: New TV Version

I always enjoy seeing what TV shows and movies fellow bloggers are watching and I thought I would showcase some of the new shows I've been watching in 2011. All of these shows are on their first season! I'll hopefully be putting up another post next weekend discussing older shows I enjoy.

Please comment with your thoughts on these new shows and any other suggestions you have! I don't always have time to keep up with all of these, but I try to do my best!

Pan Am (Sundays @ 10 on ABC)

I've heard so many good things about shows like Mad Men and when I heard this was being compared to it, I thought I'd give it a shot. The historical setting it fantastic and I love seeing the different destinations the characters visit. There are a lot of story lines to follow, but I'm enjoying this one a lot so far.

The Secret Circle (Thursdays @ 9 on The CW)

The Secret Circle is a book series by LJ Smith, which I unfortunately haven't read, and the show is very good! I love anything to do with witches and the premise of this series is fantastic. A few episodes have freaked me out, but I highly recommend it!

New Girl (Tuesdays @ 9 on Fox)

Some people don't like New Girl at all, but I think it is hilarious! The more I watch, the more attached I become to the different characters, particularly Jess. Zooey Deschanel is awesome and she adds so much to this show.

Once Upon a Time (Sundays @ 8 on ABC)

I adore this show! There have only been two episodes so far, but I'm really enjoying it. The concept is highly original and it's fun seeing my favorite favorite tale characters come to life. My whole family enjoys this program and we're looking forward to see what happens as the season progresses (I am so glad it has been granted a full season!).

Thank you to Nina from We Adore Happy Endings for the idea for this post!

  1. I love new girl and I've heard great things about Once Upon a Time but I don't know if I want to commit to another series!

  2. Once Upon a Time is AMAZING!!! (:

  3. I LOVE Once Upon A Time! What a great cast and story line.
I get all giddy every time they jump to the "story book" world. :D

  4. The New Girl - I've seen parts of episodes but it seems funny.

Pan Am - heard this was awesome so I need to check it out.

The Secret Circle - I watched the pilot but didn't really like it. I enjoy The Vampire Diaries much better.

Once Upon a Time - I want to check this out! Also, there's Grimm, too. I wonder how they compare?

  5. Hey! I'm digging the new look!

And I'm loving Once - I didn't think I would but Im hooked!

Same with New Girl, it's growing on me.

  6. I really wanted to watch Pan Am but didn't have the chance to record it. I am loving Once Upon A Time though :)

I never heard of New Girl, sounds like fun though. I love Zooey Deschanel.

  7. Pan Am and Once Upon a Time are my two favorite new shows. they are both so fantastic!

I'm also really enjoying Terra Nova and 2 Broke Girls. Both are interesting, with Terra Nova going the sci-fi route, and 2 Broke Girls going the witty comedy route.

  8. Love, love, LOVE Once Upon a Time! I'm so glad the scriptwriters (cough*Jane Espenson*cough) gave Snow White such a kickass personality, rather than keeping her a passive foil for male heroics. And the queen/mayor is such an awesome villain because she has real motivation in her actions, rather than just a cartoonish caricature.

I kinda gave up on New Girl--the secondhand embarrassment just wasn't fun for me.

  9. New Girl is so funny. Hilarious. Loving that show too.

The Secret Circle is so good. I really enjoy watching that series. I haven't seen a good witch series since Charmed stopped. ;)

Once Upon a Time is my favourite series so far! I really am loving it. :) It's so suspenseful and I can't wait for them to finally realise that they are characters from a fairytale. So cool.

Also Sunday I watched Hart of Dixie and that one is also very cool. I like it a lot. :)

I love getting comments, so feel free to leave your thoughts :)
