When Alora returns, bent on revenge, the reunion forces Nicholas and Julia to choose what they are willing to live and die for.
Review:
The Sapphire Talisman was an enthralling and fast paced follow up to the fantastic The Emerald Talisman. The ending of The Emerald Talisman left me very anxious to find out what happened to Julia, Nicholas, and the other characters and The Sapphire Talisman did not disappoint.
Julia is a great main character. While at first she is a bit too clingy to Nicholas she matures a lot in this novel and learns to stand on her own two feet. She also opens up to Nicholas and shares more of her secrets. I liked how Nicholas and Julia were more honest with each other and their relationship changed a lot! Things were not always perfect for the couple and the ending left me dying to find out what happens!
It's hard to review this without spoiling any of the great plot twists because there are a lot. Brenda Pandos never ceased to keep me on the edge of my seat and a lot of my questions from the first book were answered. The reader gets to learn more about Julia's family, even her grandmother, as well as Julia's mysterious power.
I liked how there were a lot of intriguing sub plots woven in to keep things interesting and a lot of new characters were introduced. Julia and the other characters are all believable and Brenda's take on vampires is entirely original. The plot is fast paced and exciting and a lot happens over the course of the novel.
This is a well written and unique series that will appeal to all kinds of readers. Whenever I thought I might know what was going to happen Brenda threw a curve ball and completely took me by surprise. I loved being drawn into Julia's world and can't wait to find out more about the third book! I definitely recommend this series.
Overall: 4 out of 5 stars

ReplyDeleteI've heard so many great things about book 1. Glad to see that book 2 stood up well, also. Nothing I like better than a lot of twists and turns and an ending that is not evident.
