What is one place in the world you would travel to in order to promote female education and why?
When I first saw this question, the obvious answer seemed to be somewhere like
I live in an area where there are lots of kids and over the years, occasionally some of them will bring their homework to me. These are always girls whose parents can't help them for one reason or another. As we're working, I give mini pep talks about the importance of getting a good education and as much of it as possible. I explain that there's nothing wrong with being a ticket taker at the movies or a waitress or what-have-you if that's what a person chooses to be in life but that it's not so great if a person does work like that because the choices they've made in their own lives have left them with no other career options. The greater the education, the greater choice a person has over her own destiny. Oh, and I always tell the girls that the more education they have, the more likely they are to take over the world. You would be surprised how excited 10-year-old girls can get at the idea of ultimate power.
So I guess to answer your question, I would keep doing what I've always done but in a more focused effort than what I do already.
