A Kiss in Time Book Review

A Kiss in Time by Alex Flinn
Publisher: HarperTeen
Release date: May 1, 2009
Source: Library

Talia fell under a spell . . . . Jack broke the curse. I was told to beware the accursed spindle, but it was so enchanting, so hypnotic. . . . I was looking for a little adventure the day I ditched my tour group. But finding a comatose town, with a hot-looking chick asleep in it, was so not what I had in mind. I awakened in the same place but in another time—to a stranger's soft kiss. I couldn't help kissing her. Sometimes you just have to kiss someone. I didn't know this would happen. Now I am in dire trouble because my father, the king, says I have brought ruin upon our country. I have no choice but to run away with this commoner! Now I'm stuck with a bratty princess and a trunk full of her jewels. . . . The good news: My parents will freak! Think you have dating issues? Try locking lips with a snoozing stunner who turns out to be 316 years old. Can a kiss transcend all—even time?

Review:

I love fairy tale retellings and A Kiss in Time has just made the top of my list. Talia and Jack were great narrators and I loved being able to get both of their prospective on what was happening in the story. Some books, having more than one narrator just doesn’t work, but for this novel Alex Flinn wrote in a way that made it flow, made you want to keep reading. This was a love story at its best. One of my favorite things about romance books is feeling the connection between the two characters. Jack and Talia had great connection, it seemed to be flowing off the pages. At first, they didn't seem at all connected, but as the book continued you began to see hints of their love for each other. Five star book!

Now I am dying to read another book by Alex Flinn, particularly Beastly. I’ve heard so much about it, but for some reason never got around to reading it. I’m in love with A Kiss in Time now so hopefully when I go to the library, they’ll have Beastly! I recommend this book for any fans of romance/fairy tales.

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

  2. I'm also a big fan of fairy tale retellings. I'll have to check out both this one and Beastly! Great review. :)

Oh, and for the blog awards, you can award them to others if you wish. Really, you can do whatever you want to do with them.
