Author Interview: Melissa de la Cruz (and Giveaway!)

I am thrilled to welcome Melissa de la Cruz to my blog today! She was kind enough to answer a few questions for me and I'm sharing them with everyone today. I am a huge fan of the Blue Bloods series and am sad to see it ending. Gates of Paradise, the final book in the series, released earlier this month, so be sure to check it out!

Q&A

1. What does it feel like knowing the series is over? Do you plan on revisiting these characters in the future?

It feels bittersweet but very satisfying. Yes there will be an announcement soon. I wanted everyone to enjoy the finale first.

2. With all of the vampire books, movies, and TV shows out there, what do you think makes BLUE BLOODS different?

I think it has a very rich and accessible mythology, that is inspired by the story of Lucifer from Paradise Lost that most people are familiar with. Also, it's about three girls, and a family epic, it's not just a love story, I wanted to write and create a whole world and universe where vampires existed.

3. If you could travel anywhere in the world with any of your characters where would you choose and why?

I'd just like to hang with them in their hometown. They're New Yorkers and New York is my favorite city. Otherwise, probably Florence, which is my second-favorite city in the world.

  5. I wonder how you decide how many books to have in a series? I actually love it when a series is complete, then I go on a reading frenzy.

  6. I would let Kingsley take me to Paris. Florence also sounds and looks nice.
