Blog Tour: Lindsey Leavitt Interview AND Giveaway!

Stopping by today, as part of her Teen {Book} Scene blog tour, is the amazing LINDSEY LEAVITT, author of the recently released Sean Griswold's Head along with the fantastic Princess for Hire. I've read and loved both and can't wait to read more by Lindsey soon! I love the answer to the last question (especially the final line, so cute!)

1. If Desi and Payton could spend the day together what would they do?

Probably sit around and complain about me. Oh, that Lindsey Leavitt. She made our lives SO HARD. We should make it super difficult to finish our scenes. Ha ha! Take that, Lindsey Leavitt!

(or they could paint nails and eat junk food. AND PLOT MY DEMISE).

2. Did you have to do any research on MS before writing?

Yes. I already knew a little about the disease because my father-in-law was diagnosed about fifteen years ago. But that was just one case, and each and every person has a different experience. So I researched across the spectrum and figured out what challenges Payton’s father would face and how that would impact his family.

3. Was the title always the same for Sean Griswold’s Head or did it go through any changes?

I wrote the title before I started the book. But when I sold, my publisher wasn’t sure if SEAN GRISWOLD’S HEAD would work. We actually spent a couple of weeks going back and forth with titles. My editor would send me lists, I would send some to her. There were others I liked, but didn’t love. I don’t know what made sales ultimately decide that the title would stick, but I’m delighted it did.

4. If Sean Griswold’s Head was made into a movie who could you imagine playing Payton and Sean?

Ack, I am casting fail! Okay, here’s a shot.

PAYTON –Selena Gomez. Maybe not that original, but I love this girl. Her comedic timing is awesome, and she still looks like a teenager. And looks-wise, she matches Payton pretty well.

SEAN—I’m going to make a million people groan and a million girls scream (because two million people are surely reading this post), but Justin Bieber. I say this because I can’t think of any other Hollywood type around that age. And that kid does have a pretty big head.

Oh, and now I just googled them both and it looks like they are or did date at some time? Fate perhaps?

5. What is your most memorable high school experience?

I seriously stared at the computer screen for five minutes trying to think of ONE THING. I have so many memories, and so many of those have shaped my life. But here is a random one…

The boy who sat next to me in anatomy class was always trying to get a rise out of me. Whenever our teacher wasn’t looking, he would do something ridiculous to make me laugh, and of course I would get in trouble.

One time, he told his friend, J, to moon me. J took that a step too far and pulled down his pants. And underoos. In the middle of class. And that was my first exposure to certain parts of the male body. I was pretty much scarred for life, and J is super lucky that teacher didn’t turn around and expel his bare butt.

Oh, and the instigator in that scenario? Yeah, he’s my husband now.

  1. Too funny! I am seriously glad that I have never been mooned. My sister was mooned on the highway w/ her best friend & snapped a picture. The boys' eyes almost popped out of their heads when they saw the flash! :)

  2. Love the moon story! I was about to suggest that the instigator probably had a serious crush going on, but apparently no need to say so LOL.

  8. There must be someone better than Justin Beiber out there to play Sean Griswold. I love the title of this book. It makes me want to see what it's about. I think it's good that they stuck with the title.

I love the mooning story! That is classic.
